My organisation
The Geneva School of Engineering, Architecture, and Landscape (HEPIA) is part of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO). HEPIA offers interdisciplinary training with 9 Bachelor programs and applied research in engineering. In particular, HEPIA works closely with industry to drive innovation and sustainable development through applied research, technology transfer, and collaborative projects.
About me
After his early research on photon-based quantum computing in Rome, Enrico Pomarico obtained a PhD in quantum communication from the University of Geneva in 2011. He then continued his research for a number of years at EPFL and the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg, where he investigated quantum effects in molecules and condensed matter induced by ultrashort laser pulses. Since 2020, he has been lecturer at HEPIA – HES-SO, where he is exploiting the potential of single photon detectors to push the limits of resolution and range in distributed temperature sensing.
