My background is in ultracold atomic systems. Now I am working on time and frequency in fiber optic networks, as well as the Swiss national time scale UTC(CH).

About me

I am an experimental physicist working at the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, METAS, in the laboratory of photonics, time and frequency. Here I contribute to ensure state-of-the-art measurements of the quantities of time and frequency, both in industry and research.

My work focuses on the realization and evaluation of accurate and stable time and frequency reference signals based on atomic clocks, and their dissemination to users, via various fiber- and satellite-based techniques. In particular, I am in charge of the operation and developement of the coherent Swiss frequency metrology fiber network.

Besides my core activities in time and frequency, I have a strong interest in fiber sensing based on phase-stabilized fiber networks, in particular in view of seismic and anthropogenic phenomena.

I value collaborations, in particular in interdisciplinary fields, and I am always open to exchanging ideas, discovering new tools, and learning new approaches.

My scientific roots are in ultracold atoms, where I performed quantum simulations of thermoelectric transport in superfluid degenerate Fermi gases.
