About me

Dr. Jennifer Wadsworth is experienced in fundamental scientific research, research management, and science communication/education, with a focus on the fields of space science and deep-tech.

During her PhD at the University of Edinburgh and subsequent work including a Postdoctoral Fellowship at NASA, her research touched on many domains, from life detection missions to astronaut health. After many years in fundamental research, she transitioned into research management with a specific interest in enabling novel interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. Following her partnership and research management at the new ETH AI competence centre, she is now helping establish the European Space Deep-Tech Innovation Centre research program as program manager and local Phi-Lab manager for Switzerland.

She also continues to lecture at the University of Zürich, building and teaching Bachelor and Master-level courses on space exploration and life detection.

Her concurrent passion is to enable and engage in science outreach and communication efforts to audiences from all backgrounds and age groups, with a special interest in promoting women in STEM
