Experimental sub-group leader at ETH
About
I bring a strong background in cutting-edge research at the interface of optomechanics, optics, and ultracold atoms, with a passion for advancing quantum technologies from the lab to real-world impact. Over the past several years, I led the optomechanics sub-group of the Nanophotonics Systems Laboratory at ETH Zürich, where I managed and mentored a team of up to ten researchers at all career stages. I have supervised five PhD students and nearly twenty Master’s and Bachelor’s students, fostering both scientific growth and professional development.
My work has centered on conceiving and realizing multiple long-term experimental platforms for foundational optomechanics in collaboration with leading international groups. These efforts have resulted in peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals. Alongside scientific contributions, I delivered invited talks at international conferences, and co-organized the “Quantum Engineering of Levitated Systems” workshop series, now in its fifth edition.
What drives me is bridging fundamental science with innovation. I am eager to bring my expertise in experimental research and team leadership to a forward-looking organization, while continuing to grow and contribute to the advancement of quantum technologies.
